How Frontline Builders Delivered Critical Relief During the LA Wildfires

When disaster strikes, it takes more than just emergency responders to rebuild lives and restore hope.

In January 2025, the LA wildfires devastated Southern California, displacing over 200,000 people and destroying more than 18,000 structures. In the face of this humanitarian crisis, Frontline Builders, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, mobilized rapidly to deliver impactful humanitarian relief. Within just 24 hours of the first fires, Frontline Builders activated its extensive network of response partners to deliver essential goods, supporting not only displaced residents but also the frontline workers—firefighters, police officers, nurses, doctors, and teachers—who risked everything to protect their communities.

Mobilizing Relief Through Corporate Partnerships

Throughout January and February, Frontline Builders coordinated the delivery of over 500,000 in-kind donations to support impacted communities. By partnering with more than 40 generous donors, including well-known CPG (consumer packaged goods) brands like Nature’s Bakery, Avvika, and Harry’s, we supplied shelf-stable foods, beverages, and personal care products. These resources were distributed through trusted grassroots and nonprofit partners such as LA WIC, LA Mission, Breastfeed LA, and the Global Empowerment Mission—organizations with deep local roots and the knowledge needed to serve affected populations quickly and effectively.

A Movement for Impact

This effort wasn’t just about delivering goods; it was about rebuilding lives. By encouraging companies to donate resources, Frontline Builders provided a seamless channel for corporate social responsibility while simultaneously offering humanitarian response at scale. The visibility of their efforts, featured in media stories in outlets including Forbes, Fox News, and CEO Today, not only brought national attention to the victims but also inspired more brands to join the mission.

Honoring First Responders

March marked a turning point from emergency response to recognition and appreciation. Frontline Builders visited a fire station in Anaheim to personally thank the firefighting teams who came from far and wide—even as far as Mexico—to support LA during the wildfires. Donating goods and sharing moments with Captain Blake Berg and his crew at Station 3 underscored the unity and resilience of the broader firefighting and disaster response community. It was a powerful reminder that democracy and community thrive when we stand together in times of crisis.

As the region shifted into recovery mode in April and beyond, Frontline Builders pivoted to long-term support. In collaboration with Global Empowerment Mission, we began distributing “Welcome Home” packages to help families rebuild not just homes but a sense of normalcy.

A Scalable Model for Humanitarian Relief

Frontline Builders exemplifies what’s possible when mission-driven nonprofits and socially conscious businesses work hand-in-hand. By turning in-kind donations and excess product into life-saving support, we have demonstrated a scalable, replicable model for humanitarian relief that’s rooted in corporate responsibility, community trust, and swift, strategic action. As climate-related disasters grow more frequent, organizations like Frontline Builders serve as critical infrastructure in safeguarding not only communities but the very fabric of collective care.
